Today was very satisfying as our whole family seldom have dinner with our cousins, aunts and uncles. It was an opportunity for us to strengthen our bonds and further understand one another.
Around 6pm, all of us arrived and we greeted one another. This is a form of respect and filial piety. By then, our dinner had been ready. Dinner was often cooked by my grandfather as his culinary skills were excellent. Scrumptious crispy prawns, steamed dumplings and vegetables looked appetizing. In a blink of an eye, everything been devoured. Smiles, laughter and happiness were in the atmosphere and everyone was just light-hearted. Our cousins were soon bored and started to play hide-and-seek in the three story house. Although I was not playing, I could hear the whispering and murmuring of them discussing on where to hide. They were very excited as it was difficult to find a person in many possible places.
Time passed very fast while having fun. It was already nine-thirty and we bid farewell to one another. Suddenly, the atmosphere died down. Everything was just silent. While cleaning and tidying up the house, we exchanged looks. It was clear that it was over.
